Lalapi Lapi is a lady of indomitable spirit. There is very little that can crush her heart or tear down her ambitions. Once she has a goal, she will scheme and work towards it until she's gotten exactly what she wants with as few compromises as possible.Although perhaps not the most moral sort, so long as her self interest aligns with those around her, she's happy to make choices that benefit everyone.
Backstory
Lalapi Lapi was born as the heiress to the Bell Bell Mining Company, a wealthy constituent member of the Miner's Guild in Ul'dah.She spent her childhood living in relative luxury, a girl who wanted for nothing and was beloved by all. Yet, no such charmed life can last forever, and thus The Calamity came, falling upon her as it did everyone else.As a teenager, Lalapi watched The Calamity unfold and the reactions of all those around her. Forced to confront the fragility of all they had built, her parents idealistically decided to send her to study trade and magic in Limsa Lominsa to become a woman suitable for the new Astral Era.However, no parental plan survives contact with a teenager, and Lalapi's entitlement to wealth did her no favors. Although she did take her studies seriously, she began to divert, subvert, and exploit ore shipments from Bell Bell Co. to La Noscea, cooking the books of her family's business to pad her own pockets and afford anything and everything she desired.A few years later, around the time she completed her studies and returned to Ul'dah... her fraud was discovered. For the lady of a trading house to defraud her own kin was scandal by all measures of the word, and she was rapidly disowned.Thus, Lalapi Lapi finds herself in her twenty-second year of life entirely bereft of family or fortune... and yet still carrying all of her grand ambitions close to her breast.Does she regret what she has done? Because it was wrong? Or because she was caught? What will her next move be? Can a citizen of Ul'dah truly pull themselves up by their bootstraps?
